About this hat
Contoy is an outdoor hat first and a western hat second. Its body is 100% palm straw, handmade in Mexico and finished in a color called Extra Toasty. The 4 1/4-inch pinch front crown has eyelets for airflow, and the 3 1/2-inch rolled brim carries a burnt "S" logo.
The chincord is the practical bit. It retracts when you do not need it and a toggle snugs it down in a stiff breeze. A leather hatband dresses the crown, and the inside is lined with a cotton sweatband. Sizes run S through XL, and at $95 it is priced for hard use on the trail.

Fit & care
Cotton sweatbands soak up a lot, so let the hat air out after hot hikes before putting it away. Palm straw deforms in high heat, so keep it off car dashboards. If you are between lettered sizes, take the larger one and let the chincord help keep it put.
