About this hat
Long before it came pre-creased, the Open Road was sold with an open top and shaped at the counter to each buyer's taste. Now the cattleman crease is pressed in by hand at 4 inches, and the style still carries some presidential history, with Harry Truman and Lyndon Johnson both among its fans.
This edition is firm-finished 100% shantung, which keeps brim and crown lines crisp. Pick from Cognac, Black, Silverbelly or Taupe. A satin band and a sheepskin sweatband finish it, and it is built by hand in the USA, sized 6 3/4 to 7 3/4. Prices run $155 to $175.
