About this hat
Stetson first sold the Open Road in 1937 and settled on its hand-pressed cattleman crease in 1948. Lyndon Johnson was hardly ever photographed on his Texas ranch without one. This vented straw version keeps the short brim and adds a few details of its own.
The 4 1/4-inch crown is 100% shantung straw with a firm finish, wrapped in a satin hat band. A bound edge on the 2 3/4-inch brim keeps the rim crisp. Colors are Chocolate and Cognac, both darker than typical straw, and a genuine leather sweatband adds comfort. Sizing is unisex, in eighths from 6 3/4 to 7 3/4, and the hat is handmade in the U.S.A.

Fit & care
A firm finish helps the crown hold its crease, but heavy rain will still soften shantung, so take it off when the sky opens up. Dark straw shows dust, and a quick wipe with a dry cloth goes a long way. Store it upside down on the crown.
