About this hat
The Open Road got its name back when it left the shop uncreased, so the buyer could have the crown shaped however he liked. Today it arrives with a cattleman crease pressed by hand, the same frontier shape presidents Truman and Johnson favored.
This version swaps straw for hemp and comes in Natural or a muted Sage. The 2 3/4-inch brim has a bound edge, and a grosgrain hatband circles the crown. Inside is a sheepskin sweatband, soft against the skin. Every one is handmade in Garland, Texas, in fitted sizes from 6 3/4 up to 7 5/8.

Fit & care
A sheepskin sweatband molds to your head over time, so a snug first fit is the right fit. Hemp should be kept dry like any straw; if it gets wet, blot it gently and let it air-dry on its crown. The short brim travels well, but do not stack other hats on top of it.
