About this hat
Stanhope is the plain-talking member of the straw lineup. It uses 10X quality shantung straw in Natural, shaped into a 4 1/8-inch cattleman crown vented by small eyelets. The brim measures 4 1/4 inches.
A studded leather hatband is the only trim, which keeps it versatile for work and weekend. The DRI-LEX absorbent sweatband is a good match for hot climates and long sweaty days. It is a unisex style cut on a regular oval, sized 6 3/4 to 7 3/4, and handmade in the USA. At $180, it is a fair price for a straw you can wear every day from May to September.

Fit & care
Shantung straw cracks if it is folded or sat on, so give it a dedicated spot on a shelf or hat rack. Wipe the DRI-LEX band with a damp cloth when it gets salty, then let it air out. Straw does not loosen much with wear, so avoid any size that squeezes from day one.
